Fore Kicks Norfolk is very pleased to announce a new Pickeball clinic series with lead instructor Brian "BMax" Maxfield. These programs will enable Fore Kicks to offer pickleball clinics to players of various ages and abilities. Brian is a member of the PPR (Professional Pickleball Registry), the coaching and education partner or the USAPA. He has received coaching instruction from multi-year national champion, Sarah Ansboury, who is the PPR's head clinician for training coaches. BMax is eager to share his passion and knowledge of this game with people who want to try it out for themselves and/or take their games to the next level
The Intermediate I program is for players who have been playing and are looking to sharpen their current skills and learn intermediate techniques and game strategies for the exciting game of Pickleball. This weekly clinic is a great way to expand on the basics and get some more tips/techniques to improve your game.
In the Intermediate I Clinic, consisting of four 60-minute sessions, the player will:
- Learn shot-specific strategies for the serve, return of serve and 3rd
- Further develop accuracy and consistency of ground-stroke forehand shots.
- Understand the “why” behind the “3rd shot drop” and to begin developing confidence in executing the shot.
- Learn the technique necessary to execute the basic backhand ground stroke, from distance to the dink.
- Understand the importance of the 3 Ps…patience, pace and placement.
Program will run for 4 weeks starting Wednesday March 11th from 8:30am to 9:30am.Fore Kicks will be using the following criteria for player placement in clinics:
2.5-3.0 Advanced Beginner
3.0-3.5 Emerging Intermediate
4.0-4.5+ Advanced Intermediate
Participants are welcome to stay for the Pickleball 2 hr open play session following the clinic included at no charge on the day of the clinic only. Additonal open play periods are available to hone your skills on other days for the low cost of $8 for up to 2 hours of play.
Class size will be limited to 8 students. Please register early to avoid bring waitlisted
Paddles and balls will be supplied. Normal sports attire and sneakers suggested.
