Fore Kicks and Laxachusetts/ Legacy Lacrosse Group are pleased to be offering BOX Lacrosse leagues this winter with our Youth Lacrosse league.

With the growing trend of Canadian players being recruited to NCAA programs and more and more college coaches now having their American players participating in box training, this skill set is becoming more and more important.

How significant is box lacrosse to the development of young players? Consider this quote from Denver University coach Bill Tierney:
"I believe that box lacrosse gives young people many more opportunities to excel in our game.  If I had my choice, I would have every player under the age of twelve play box lacrosse exclusively or at least a majority of the time.  The number of touches of the ball and the ability to develop better stick skills in a game of box lacrosse, far surpasses what happens to young people o
n a 110 x 60 yard field.  Learning how to pass and catch in traffic, understanding how to shoot, and developing a sense of physicality are all positive traits developed by the box game.

There are many great benefits to the box lacrosse game but one very important element is for players to work on creativity. Obviously playing in tight space increases stick skills and shooting on a smaller goal helps players develop into more efficient goal scorers and creates better defensive players because everyone needs to play defense and all shorts sticks requires quicker footwork.

Teams will play on our large boarded state of the art sythetic grass fields, 65 yards by 33 yards field where players can experience outdoor grass field play only indoors in our all weather facility. Players may wear either molded cleats or flat shoes (no screw in cleats allowed).

Session will be for 6 games plus playoffs for youth teams, top 50% (up to 4) teams per section will be in playoffs.

Teams will play games in a 6 vs 6 format (5 field players and 1 goalie) with indoor box size regulation goals. Games will be 2-25 minute running time halfs. Full body checking will not be allowed as this league is for development and training purposes. All field players need to use short sticks (No long poles allowed).

We will have Box Goalie Gear for all Goalies to wear in games (pats, leg pads, upper pads) Goalies will need their own throat guard, gloves, athletic supporter, and helmet.

Rosters need to be turned in before the second game, and may have up to 16 players. Appropriate equipment and numbered shirts are required for all players. A responsible adult over 21 must be at each game on the player's bench at all times. Team fees include all referee payments and league fees.

All teams are responsible for providing a valid contact email address when registering as this will be the primary method of communication with all teams prior to and during the season.

Online league registration and payment for our customers is available. In order to reserve and confirm your space in our league, a Non-Refundable $100 deposit must be made. You may pay only the deposit, or the whole league fee online via a Master,Visa or Discover Credit Card (sorry no Amex cards accepted). Your transaction will be handled through Verisign.
